A Global Design Moment: Amy Astley × Kelly Wearstler
One of the weekend’s defining highlights was the onstage conversation between Amy Astley, Global Editorial Director & Editor in Chief of AD US, and Kelly Wearstler, internationally acclaimed American designer and creative director. Their dialogue on cross-cultural exchange, the influence of India and the future of global design attracted an overwhelming audience response.
The Geoffrey Bawa Pavilion
The standout experience of the show, the Geoffrey Bawa Pavilion, unveiled a breathtaking contextual installation designed by Bangalore based studio Phantom Hands dedicated to the late Sri Lankan master’s furniture and product designs. Created in collaboration with the Geoffrey Bawa Trust and Phantom Hands, the pavilion drew immense appreciation for reintroducing Bawa’s modernist legacy to new audiences. Daily walkthroughs by architect Channa Daswatte offered visitors intimate insights and rare anecdotes behind each iconic piece.
Luxury Pavilion
The Luxury Pavilion showcased a world-class selection of leading global and Indian design houses. Visitors experienced the latest in luxury furniture, lighting, surfaces, technology-enabled interiors and lifestyle innovation, solidifying AD Design Show’s position as India’s premier luxury design destination.
AD Discoveries
AD Discoveries returned as one of the fair’s most anticipated zones, spotlighting 40+ emerging designers and collectible design studios. The pavilion celebrated the country’s most exciting new voices, presenting limited-edition furniture, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and experimental design.
AD Café
Functioning as the social heart of the exhibition, the AD Café hosted industry networking, creative conversations, and intimate gatherings, powered by a carefully curated lineup of culinary partners including KOKO, Food Square, Cravin’ Pantry by Andy, Ode, SupaSan, Scarlett House, Frozen Fun and Subko.
VIP Lounge
The VIP Lounge, designed by Peacock Life by Shabnam Gupta and powered by Rustomjee, was a wonderful space for meaningful conversations throughout the AD Design Show.
Installations
Mathieu Lustrerie showcased historic Versailles chandeliers, revealing how 17th-century French crystal craft elevates modern spaces. ENVIRO X MCM blended Indonesian fibre traditions with contemporary design to highlight innovation rooted in heritage. Parman Design’s Baithak reinterpreted Kaali, Kolam art, and the charpai through sculptural terrazzo forms. Takshni’s Dvait used kintsugi philosophy to depict healing, duality, and societal transformation. Luxerus’ Falling Amber chandelier evoked cascading waterfalls through hand-cast Murano-style glass in warm amber gradients. Geometry in Light turned a Rietveld-inspired armchair into a luminous geometric sculpture with smart-controlled light tubes. JIGYA.M’s Jhakhi presented intricately hand-embroidered Pichwai art in reclaimed teak frames, celebrating devotion through craft. Bombay Sapphire Creative Lab’s Step Into the Blue created an immersive blue-lit landscape using acrylic, metal, and textured materials to express the brand’s clarity and creativity.
