Mumbai, May 12, 2026: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today announced the addition of Honda E‑Clutch technology to the NX500, its mid-size adventure touring motorcycle. The E‑Clutch system uses precise electronic control to manage clutch engagement during starting, gear shifting, and stopping, reducing the need for manual clutch operation, while allowing riders to override the system at any time.
For riders navigating India’s busy city roads as well as long highway stretches, the addition helps reduce fatigue caused by regular clutch operation. Honda E-Clutch manages this automatically, allowing riders stay focused on the road without compromising on the hands-on riding experience, the NX500 is known for.
On the announcement, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said: “The Honda NX500 equipped with E Clutch technology enhances comfort and control across both urban and touring environments in India, by reducing rider fatigue, while retaining the engaging, hands-on riding experience that defines Honda motorcycles.”
The NX500 is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine paired with a 6-speed transmission, tuned to deliver strong low and mid-range torque along with linear power delivery at higher RPMs – supporting both city riding and highway touring. The motorcycle features a steel diamond frame, Showa SFF-BP USD front suspension, and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, along with dual front disc brakes and a rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination. A 5.0-inch full-colour TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity enables navigation, call and music functions. Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and LED lighting are standard.
The NX500 is available in two colour options: Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Horizon White.
