Everyone has their morning rituals, but Indian actor Kalyani Priyadarshan takes it up a notch. While fans are busy talking about her appearance at Cannes, the actor had something far more pressing on her mind: her daily hot water update.
Kalyani’s ritual might sound unusual, but it reflects a broader shift in how young people travel today. According to Airbnb’s recent Never the Same: The New Rules of Gen Z Travel in India report, travel is becoming increasingly personal, with 95% of Gen Z travellers saying it is important that their trips feel unique to them. From the routines they keep to the spaces they choose to stay in, travel is becoming an extension of who they are rather than a break from it – and Kalyani’s latest Instagram post from her Airbnb stay is just that!

Speaking about her recent summer Euro trip with Airbnb, Kalyani said, “Travel, for me, has always been about experiencing new places while still holding on to the little routines that make me feel grounded. I recently travelled to Europe for my Cannes debut and then spent some time in Paris to unwind and take it all in. Work trips can be incredibly hectic, especially during moments as special and busy as these, so being able to stay in an Airbnb that felt private and comfortable made all the difference.
What I loved was being able to do things my way, whether it was starting every morning with my hot water, which is a non-negotiable for me, or simply spending quality time celebrating with my team after long days at our Paris Airbnb. It never felt like I was staying somewhere unfamiliar; it genuinely felt like a home away from home.”
