Mumbai, March 31, 2026: Interio by Godrej, a leading furniture and design brand from the Godrej Enterprises Group, has unveiled an immersive social experiment film as part of its ‘Moments That Matter’ study, demonstrating how thoughtfully designed spaces shape emotions, behaviours and human connections.
The film builds on the brand’s ‘Moments That Matter’ study, which draws on insights from homeowners and officegoers across multiple cities to explore how everyday experiences at home and work shape emotional wellbeing, connection and comfort for modern Indian consumers. The findings reveal that Indian homes are increasingly perceived as emotional anchors that restore balance and belonging amid the pressures of modern life. Bedrooms emerged as the emotional core of the home, with 90% of respondents associating them with comfort, rejuvenation and rest. 54% respondents associate their most cherished home moments with going to sleep in their own bed, underscoring the deep connection between sleep, familiarity and emotional security.
Speaking on the film, Reshu Saraf, Head of Integrated Marketing & Communications, Interio by Godrej, said, “Through our Moments That Matter campaign, we are reimagining furniture as an enabler of meaningful everyday experiences in modern Indian homes. This film builds on our recent rebranding, which reflects a shift towards more design-led, consumer-centric thinking. By bringing real human interactions to the forefront, we highlight how thoughtfully designed spaces can shape how people feel, connect, and live. It reflects our evolution into a brand that helps create homes where meaningful moments unfold every day.”
Bringing this insight to life, the film unfolds an innovative social experiment set in a specially designed room equipped with advanced sensors that respond dynamically to human presence, movement and interaction, adapting in real time to reflect states such as calmness, connection and energy. Participants, ranging from strangers to close friends, experienced how the environment intuitively adapted to them, with subtle shifts in lighting and colour mirroring emotional states moving from warmth and ease in quieter interactions to vibrancy during shared moments highlighting the role of space in shaping connection and mood.
Adding depth to the film, Dr. Alisha Lalljee, practicing psychologist, psychotherapist and educator, explains how physical environments influence psychological wellbeing, noting that familiar and comforting spaces can trigger positive neurochemical responses linked to calm, trust and belonging reinforcing that spaces actively shape emotional experiences rather than simply hosting them.
Commenting on the association, Dr. Alisha Lalljee added, “It was great to collaborate with Interio by Godrej on such a thoughtful film. The relationship between space and psychological wellbeing is both profound and often overlooked. Through this initiative, they bring an innovative and scientific lens to everyday living, showing how design can positively influence emotional regulation and human connection. It’s encouraging to see spaces being reimagined not just as physical settings, but as active contributors to mental and emotional wellbeing.”
The film will be amplified across digital and social platforms, encouraging audiences to reflect on their own spaces and the moments that matter within them.
The Moments that Matter study was conducted with 1,800 homeowners and 800 officegoers across eight cities. Among its key findings, 64% of Indians say their most cherished moments are spent in their living room, reinforcing that a room is never just a space, but where meaningful moments are created.
