Kochi: Jain (Deemed-to-Be) University has launched its ‘Professor of Practice’ programme at its Kochi campus, aimed at bringing the practical experience and insights of distinguished professionals and leaders into the classroom.
As part of the initiative, the university’s first invitation to serve as a Professor of Practice was extended to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan by Dr. Tom M. Joseph, Director, New Initiatives, Jain (Deemed-to-Be) University. The Chief Minister has been invited to interact with students on the topic **‘Political Entrepreneurship and Future-ready Governance’.**
Dr. Tom M. Joseph said education should extend beyond the classroom by exposing students to real-world experiences and leadership perspectives. The initiative seeks to connect the younger generation with the knowledge and experience of eminent leaders and experts across various fields.
He said the Chief Minister’s extensive experience in public service and administration would offer valuable insights and inspiration to students. An interaction on political entrepreneurship and future-ready governance would also help students understand that governance extends beyond administrative procedures and can serve as a powerful means of creating positive social change, he added.
Dr. Joseph expressed hope that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan would accept the invitation and share his experiences and perspectives with students and the wider academic community.
Apart from the Chief Minister, the invitation was also handed over to Higher Education Minister Roji M John and Skill Development Minister Shibu Baby John.
Jain (Deemed-to-Be) University is part of the Jain Group of Institutions, which has been operating in the education sector for more than three decades and has over 80 institutions, including two universities. The university has received NAAC A++ accreditation and UGC Category-I Graded Autonomy.
The Jain University Kochi campus, which has also received NAAC A++ accreditation and is ranked among the top 100 institutions in the NIRF rankings, offers programmes in diverse disciplines including Management, Commerce, Science, Humanities and Technology.
