Founded in 2009 by Dr. Sanjay Salunkhe, Jaro Education is in the business of providing Online Degree & Certification Programs from IIMs, IITs & Top 100 NIRF ranked Institutions. This collaboration has yielded over 250 management, technology, and techno-functional programs, empowering more than three lakh professionals to elevate their careers over the past 15 years.

The Indian government is promoting online education for two key reasons. Firstly, it aims to democratize access to quality education by providing online programs from renowned universities like IIMs and IITs to students in Tier 2 to Tier 4 cities/towns. Secondly, the government aims to increase the Higher education gross Enrollment Ratio from 28% to 50% by 2035, which can be facilitated through online education. Additionally, the government plans to establish IITs and IIMs in major cities to improve access to quality education. These institutes will receive government support for the first five years, after which they must sustain themselves, with online education emerging as the most profitable avenue for generating revenue.

Jaro prioritizes the delivery of high-quality online postgraduate and certification programs for upskilling by maintaining a robust feedback mechanism. This system ensures seamless communication between students, faculty, and institutes, enabling timely interventions to enhance course quality and facilities throughout the duration of the program.

Jaro expects growth by partnering with more universities, including IIMs and IITs, increasing admissions, adding new programs, expanding to Tier 2 to Tier 4 cities. The business benefits from increase in student numbers, course offerings, or partnerships, leading to revenue gains. Renowned institutions like IITs and IIMs recognize the potential of online learning and are focusing on it as much as traditional offline programs due to the flexibility and scalability it offers without infrastructure constraints.

Dr. Salunkhe, CMD of Jaro Education, remarked, “Our mission has been to serve as a catalyst for professional growth, harmonizing the realms of industry and academia. Through our diverse array of programs, we have equipped individuals from entry-level to C-suite with the skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic corporate landscape. Our growth is underpinned by a strategic approach that prioritizes productivity and sustainable partnerships.”

Jaro Education’s remarkable journey is underscored by its sustainable growth trajectory. The company recently announced its FY24 results, with revenues reaching Rs. 203 crore, EBIDTA at Rs. 61 crore, and PAT at Rs. 41 crore.

More IITs are launching management programs, leveraging their expertise from offline institutes. Currently, 82% of the company’s revenue is from online postgraduate and degree programs, with the remaining from certifications and upskilling. This revenue mix is expected to persist for the next three years.

In an era defined by rapid technological advancements and changing skill requirements, Jaro Education stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence, shaping the future of online higher education and upskilling domain.
