Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida, Hosts Round Table Meet on Recognising Early Warning Signs of Heart Disease

Experts highlight the need to recognise subtle symptoms, understand individual risk factors and seek timely medical care

Greater Noida, September 30, 2026: On the occasion of World Heart Day 2026, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida, organised a Round Table Meet bringing together experts from cardiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine and nutrition to discuss the early warning signs of heart disease and the importance of timely medical intervention.

Held under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat: Are We Missing Early Signs of Heart Diseases?”, the discussion focused on symptoms that may often be overlooked or mistaken for less serious conditions, the importance of understanding individual cardiovascular risk factors, and the role of preventive care in reducing the risk of serious cardiac complications.

The discussion assumed added significance in view of the World Heart Federation’s 2026 “Don’t Miss a Beat” campaign, which focuses on increasing awareness about the signs and symptoms of cardiovascular disease and the prevention of avoidable risk factors.

Speaking on the importance of early recognition, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mandal, Consultant Cardiologist, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida, said, “People often tend to dismiss symptoms such as unusual fatigue, breathlessness, dizziness or discomfort during physical activity as acidity, stress or simple exhaustion. While not every such symptom indicates a cardiac problem, a new or unexplained symptom should not be ignored, particularly in individuals with existing risk factors. Understanding one’s cardiovascular risk and seeking appropriate medical evaluation can help identify potential concerns before they become more serious.”

From an emergency-care perspective, Dr. Ritu Sabharwal, CCMO & DMS – Emergency Medicine, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida, emphasised the importance of acting promptly when potentially serious symptoms appear. She said, “In a cardiac emergency, delays in seeking medical attention can have serious consequences. People should not wait for chest pain, breathing difficulty or other concerning symptoms to resolve on their own. Recognising that cardiac emergencies may present differently in different individuals and seeking immediate medical assistance when symptoms appear can be critical.”

The Round Table Meet also featured Dr. Manish Kumar Goel, Consultant – Internal Medicine; Dr. Ankush Garg, Consultant – Internal Medicine; and Dr. Megha Singh, Chief Dietitian & Nutritionist, Dietetics, bringing together perspectives on cardiovascular health beyond the management of acute cardiac events.

The experts highlighted the importance of looking at heart health through a preventive lens. Risk factors including high blood pressure, diabetes, abnormal cholesterol levels, smoking, physical inactivity, unhealthy dietary habits, obesity, stress and family history can contribute to cardiovascular risk and may require appropriate medical assessment and regular monitoring.

Preventive heart care does not necessarily mean waiting for symptoms to appear. Individuals with known risk factors should discuss appropriate screening and monitoring with their healthcare providers. Maintaining a healthy diet, staying physically active, avoiding tobacco, managing existing health conditions and following medical advice can form important components of long-term cardiovascular health.

As part of its continued focus on cardiovascular awareness and preventive care, Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida, will organise a Free Cardiac Camp on October 14, 2026. The camp will offer individuals an opportunity to consult cardiac specialists and understand their cardiovascular risk profile, with further evaluation and medical guidance based on individual requirements.

The Round Table Meet concluded with an emphasis on a simple message for World Heart Day: recognising potential warning signs, understanding personal cardiovascular risk and seeking timely medical attention can help people take more informed steps towards protecting their heart health.
