September 9, 2026, India- Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today announces the launch of KAWS UNIVERSE, a new UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) collection with contemporary artist KAWS. Created based on the message “We are better together,” the collection features items that reflect the theme of human connections, expressed through KAWS’s iconic COMPANION along with new characters. The collection will be available from September 14.

New characters created by KAWS
KAWS has created new characters for this collection that were inspired by the universal motifs of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. Appearing alongside COMPANION, the characters express feelings of hope, warmth, and human connection. Through designs that evoke a sense of familiarity around the world and across age groups, the collection depicts a worldview where people connect and acknowledge each other across borders, cultures, and generations.
Charms available for the first time, and items that express the KAWS worldview
The T-shirts and sweatshirts in this collection have playful graphics featuring COMPANION and the new characters. KAWS’ distinctive “XX” motif is expressed with subtle detailing and embroidery. Available in both adult and kids’ sizes, the collection can be enjoyed by people of all ages. In addition, for the first time in collaboration with KAWS, the collection includes plush charms that further embody the concept “We are better together.” The charms allow the wearer to take the KAWS UNIVERSE with them wherever they go.
Commenting on the collection, KAWS said: “I’m excited to launch my next collection with UNIQLO, featuring new characters inspired by universal symbols like the Earth, Moon, and Sun—things we all live under and share—celebrating what brings us together.”
