KL Deemed to be University, in association with Vijnana Bharati and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the My Bharat initiative, organized a special lecture on “Scientific Excellence to Social Impact – Bharat’s Journey in Nuclear Technology” at its Vijayawada campus, marking the occasion of National Technology Day.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. B. Venkataraman, former Director of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam. In his address, he highlighted India’s achievements in nuclear technology and the role of indigenous research and innovation in strengthening the nation’s strategic growth and self-reliance.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 350 faculty members and research scholars, who benefited from the insightful deliberations and interactions during the session. The event served as a platform to promote scientific awareness, innovation-driven thinking, and research-oriented academic engagement among the university community.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. K. S. Jagannatharao, Dr. BTP Madhav, Shri K. S. Sastry, and Dr. K. Subrahmanyam. The event commenced with the traditional Jyothi Prajwalan ceremony led by the dignitaries, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and scientific progress.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr K.S. Jagannatha Rao, Pro Chancellor said, “National Technology Day reminds us that scientific excellence must ultimately translate into societal transformation. At our university, we are committed to nurturing a strong research ecosystem that inspires young minds to innovate with purpose, contribute to nation-building, and create technologies that positively impact society.”
The university leadership reiterated that such initiatives reflect KL University’s continuous efforts to bridge academia, research, and national development priorities by connecting students and scholars with distinguished scientists, innovators, and thought leaders from across the country.
