Late Checkout to host Sago House for a 2-day Takeover #15 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024

Mumbai, October 2025: Late Checkout*, Mumbai’s favourite cocktail-forward bar by Pawan and Nikita Shahri’s Chrome Asia Hospitality, continues to own the space it helped create, bringing the world’s most iconic bars straight to India. The bar returns with yet another landmark collaboration: this month, it will host a two-night takeover by Sago House, ranked #15 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024, on 29th and 30th October.

Recognised as one of Singapore’s most dynamic and respected bars, Sago House is celebrated for its raw authenticity and constant reinvention. Founded by industry stalwarts Jay Gray, Desiree Jane Silva, and Joe Haywood, the bar was built entirely by hand during the pandemic, standing as a global symbol of resilience, community, and creative spirit. Their ethos, “No pretension. All craft.”, perfectly mirrors Late Checkout’s own values of storytelling, innovation, and heartfelt hospitality.

Nazri Bin Zurmi (Naz) and Khoo Heng Chun (Chun) from the Sago House team will be behind the bar for this special collaboration, bringing Mumbai guests a taste of their ever-evolving weekly cocktail philosophy, where original creations inspired by local ingredients and personal narratives come to life in every glass.

This collaboration reinforces Late Checkout’s growing reputation as one of India’s leading names in contemporary mixology. Over the past six months, the bar has collaborated with internationally acclaimed venues such as Paradiso (Barcelona), Origin (Singapore), and The Brook (Gurugram), while proudly flying the Indian flag abroad with guest shifts at Native (Singapore), Dear Irving and The Ned Nomad (New York), and a debut at Fabelei and Bar Convent Berlin.

Pawan Shahri, Co-founder of Chrome Asia Hospitality, shares, “Every collaboration we do is about pushing boundaries, not just of flavor, but of culture and connection. Sago House’s journey mirrors ours in so many ways, and together, we’re raising a toast to creativity without borders.”

With this upcoming takeover, Late Checkout once again reaffirms its position as a trailblazer in India’s bar takeover scene, setting the tone for what modern Indian hospitality looks like on the global stage.
