Bengaluru, 16 September 2026: In a proud moment for Marwadi University, four of its athletes have been selected to represent Team India at the Asian Games 2026, scheduled to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
The selected athletes including Sunil Kumar, Nitesh Siwach, Sagar Jaglan and Parveen Hooda, will compete across wrestling and boxing, carrying India’s hopes onto the continental sporting stage.
The four-member contingent from Marwadi University comprises Sunil Kumar, who will compete in Greco-Roman wrestling in the 87 kg category; Nitesh Siwach, who will compete in Greco-Roman wrestling in the 97 kg category; Sagar Jaglan, who will represent India in freestyle wrestling in the 74 kg category; and Parveen Hooda, who will compete in women’s boxing in the 65 kg category.

Their selection reflects the discipline, resilience and commitment they have demonstrated throughout their sporting journeys. The university community has extended its best wishes to the four athletes as they prepare to compete against some of Asia’s finest sporting talent. Their participation at the Asian Games 2026 is expected to inspire fellow students and aspiring athletes to pursue competitive sport with determination and confidence.
