Hyderabad, November 7, 2025: Meltwater, the global leader in media, social, and consumer intelligence, today announced the expansion of its Hyderabad AI Hub into a new 14,000 sq. ft. facility in Hi-Tech City—less than a year after establishing its first AI center in the city. The move underscores Meltwater’s accelerated investment in AI innovation and reinforces Hyderabad’s position as a premier hub in India’s technology ecosystem.
The expanded facility currently houses a 60-member R&D team focused on developing next-generation AI capabilities, with plans to scale to 150 engineers by the end of 2026. The company has strategically recruited top engineering talent from premier Indian institutions including IIT Hyderabad, BITS Pilani Hyderabad, and IIIT Hyderabad, and will extend university outreach to IISc Bangalore and IIIT Bangalore through campus recruitment drives from October to December 2025.
The Hyderabad center has rapidly evolved into a critical piece of Meltwater’s global R&D team, driving breakthrough AI capabilities across the company’s product suite. Among the key innovations developed by the India team is MIRA (Meltwater’s AI Teammate) which is an intelligent AI assistant that combines agentic and generative AI to deliver instant insights through a conversational interface, streamlining complex workflows such as brand monitoring, competitive intelligence, and news briefings.
The team has also built advanced multilingual NER models, natural language processing systems that analyze content across 200+languages, alongside fully automated Brand Performance Reports that transform raw data into actionable intelligence, providing greater value, insight and productivity for customers using the Meltwater suite of solutions.
Aditya Jami, Chief Technology Officer, Meltwater, said: “In just nine months, the Hyderabad office has become integral to Meltwater’s global innovation engine. The team here has developed critical AI capabilities redefining how global enterprises consume and act on insights. Hyderabad’s robust academic ecosystem, vibrant AI community, and support from industry networks have created an ideal environment for innovation at scale. We’re proud to contribute to the city’s growing reputation as a global hub for AI excellence.”
Beyond R&D excellence, Meltwater has strengthened its commercial presence in India, serving leading organizations, including Reserve Bank of India, Air India, Tata Group, Amazon India, ITC and Adfactors, with advanced media, social, and consumer intelligence solutions tailored to local market needs. The company continues to engage actively with India’s technology ecosystem through leadership participation in industry bodies including NASSCOM, T-AIM, and collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications.
