News18 India stays ahead of competition across time bands, acquires 15.8% market share

7th October 2022, New Delhi – As per the BARC data (Wk 36 – 39’22, 24 hrs, TG: 15+, HSM), News18 India has cemented its position as the No.1 Hindi channel in the country. The channel has widened its lead over its competitors, AajTak and India TV by 3.1%.

According to the BARC numbers (Wk 39’22, 24 hrs, TG: 15+, HSM), News18 India has 15.8% market share as compared to AajTak’s 12.7% and TV9 Bharatvarsh 13.0% market share.

In the 9 -10 PM band, News18 India’s Kishore Ajwani has 17.9% share as compared to Aajtak’s Sudhir Chaudhary who has 14.4% share and India TV who’s at number two with 17.1% share.

Additionally, as per BARC data (Wk 36 – 39’22, 1800-2400 hrs, TG: 15+, HSM), News18 India continues to be the industry leader and has garnered 16.6% market share. Moreover, the same data suggests TV9 Bharatvarsh is at No.2 and AajTak is at No.3 with 13.8% and 12.7% market share respectively.

Ever since the BARC ratings resumed in March this year, News18 India has been steadily climbing the viewership charts.

As per the BARC data for week 39, News18 India reached 8.60 crore viewers, as compared to AajTak’s 7.05 crore viewers.

Even on the digital front, the brand has been garnering solid traction with its views increasing steadily across YouTube and other social media platforms.News18 India has been heavily investing in technology and editorial resources to ensure that its content and presentation remains uniquely curated for the audience and far ahead of the competition.
