NHA launches revamped ABHA mobile app

The National Health Authority (NHA) under its flagship program Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission has launched a renewed Ayushman Bharat Health Account mobile application, according to a statement released Tuesday. is available for download at Google Play Store and already has over 4 lakh downloads. The updated version of the ABHA app has a new User Interface and additional functions that enable people to access their health records anytime and anywhere.

Existing ABHA app users can also update their previous version of the app to the latest version. The ABHA mobile app enables one to create a memorable username that can be linked to a randomly generated 14-digit ABHA number.

The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) app, formerly known as the NDHM Health Records app, available on the Google Play Store, already has more than 4 lakh downloads, it said. Explaining more on the ABHA mobile app, Dr. R.S. Sharma, CEO of the National Health Authority (NHA), said that the ABHA program would go a long run in assisting the citizens to maintain their long-term health records as patients can access their health records with the help of their ABHA address in mere seconds which will empower them in various ways. It will enable the citizens to save their health history in one place and access or share their health records anytime and anywhere without having to worry about losing them. This digital integration of data exchange will ensure better clinical decisions and continued care.

Additionally, the ABHA mobile app has new functionality that allows one to edit a profile, and link and remove linking an ABHA number to an ABHA address. It also allows users to link their health records created at the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) health facility and view them on their smartphones, the statement said. -Remember a username that can be linked to a 14-character ABHA number generated randomly.

Other features such as face-to-face authentication, fingerprints, biometrics and the ability to scan a QR code at an ABDM compliant centre account for immediate registration will be released soon, the statement said.
