New Delhi | Gujarat 10 July, 2025: The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) today announced the onboarding of Katch Mobility, a Gujarat-based startup and the first to digitise private intracity bus transport in the state, as a buyer and seller network participant. In a national first, this marks the first-ever integration of smart Point of Sale (PoS) machines with the ONDC Network in the city bus ticketing industry across India.
This also supports advance ticket booking, further improving passenger experience and operational efficiency. With this milestone, the bus ticketing in 5 cities — Gandhinagar, Anand, Botad, Mehsana, and Vadodara — are now live on the Network. This creates a scalable model for digitizing private city transport services through an open, interoperable network and setting a precedent for urban mobility solutions across the country.
Starting now, commuters in these five cities can book city bus tickets using the Katch Mobility Android app or inside the bus with a smart PoS machine that is integrated with the ONDC Network. Customers can select source and destination stops, specify the number of passengers, complete digital payment, and confirm their bookings seamlessly. The app is available at this link. This integration offers commuters a more accessible, cashless, and transparent alternative to traditional ticketing methods, improving daily urban travel experiences.
Private bus operators participating in this phase include Yogi EduTransit Pvt Ltd in Gandhinagar, Bansi Travels in Anand & Vadodara, Raghuveer Travels in Botad, and Digvijay Enterprise in Mehsana. Through the ONDC Network, these operators will now be discoverable by all buyer apps of the ONDC Network that sell bus tickets, creating a larger commuter base without being dependent on exclusive platforms, allowing for greater market access and operational efficiency.
This launch accelerates the shift from undigitized to digitized systems in the transport sector and paves the way for diverse buyer applications to offer city bus tickets to their users. Any customer-facing application on the ONDC Network can now integrate and sell city bus tickets for these cities, opening up new possibilities for expanding mobility services across platforms.
The addition of Katch Mobility builds upon ONDC Network’s earlier integrations with public sector intracity bus transport providers like Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in Odisha. With this, ONDC Network now supports intracity bus ticketing in a total of 10 cities across India — including Delhi (via DTC), 4 cities in Odisha (Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Behrampur through CRUT), 5 cities in Gujarat (Gandhinagar, Anand, Botad, Vadodara and Mehsana through Katch).
Vibhor Jain, Acting CEO & COO at ONDC, said: “The integration of Katch Mobility onto the ONDC Network highlights how open digital infrastructure can transform access to everyday services like urban transport. By making private city bus ticketing discoverable and bookable through multiple Demand channels on the ONDC network, we are creating more choices for commuters, expanding opportunities for transport service providers, and strengthening the mobility ecosystem. This initiative also demonstrates how sectors traditionally left out of digital commerce can be brought into a scalable, competitive framework that benefits everyone.”
Parth Karia, Founder of Katch Mobility, said: “We’re excited that Katch Mobility is now live on ONDC Network — a significant step forward in our mission to digitally transform intra-city travel. Katch is proud to be leading this movement by enabling private bus operators to join the digital public transport ecosystem, bringing transparency, convenience, and scalability to the forefront. Through our ONDC Network integration, passengers can now discover, book, and pay for intra-city private bus rides with ease, just like any mainstream digital service. This isn’t just a tech upgrade — it’s a game-changer for urban mobility in Gujarat.
We envision a future where every local bus operator, regardless of size, has the digital tools to serve passengers better. With ONDC Network, we are not only expanding access but also creating a level playing field for transport services. Katch is proud to lead this digital shift, and this is just the beginning of a smarter, more connected travel experience for every city in Gujarat.”
