21th April 2026, Dahanu, Maharashtra — Parksons Cartamundi, India’s leading playing cards and card games manufacturer & distributor, is proud to announce Bridge Beyond the Table, a first-of-its-kind CSR-driven Bridge event which took place on April 17–19, 2026 at the Tamarind Tree Sports Academy, Dahanu. The event blended grassroots education with competitive sport – introducing school students to Bridge’s intellectual thrill—honing strategy, teamwork, and critical thinking—while showcasing pro-level play, all powered by Parksons’ commitment to turning cards into catalysts for youth empowerment.
The three-day event, from April 17 to April 19, begun with dedicated Bridge workshops on April 17 and 18 led by expert instructors. School students were introduced to the fundamentals—rules, bidding, and gameplay strategy—while also gaining an appreciation for Bridge as a “mind sport” that fosters logical thinking, strategic acumen, and teamwork, given that it is played in pairs rather than individually like chess. On April 19, participants put their learning into practice in a live competition setting, competing in an inter-school tournament alongside professional players and experiencing the game at its highest level of skill and precision.
Bonus playing cards, the preferred choice for Bridge, are designed with an ideal size and clean, easy-on-the-eyes card back designs, ensuring a seamless experience during extended gameplay. Launched in India by Parksons Cartamundi in October 2025, Bonus brings its legendary deck to players in a modern, contemporary avatar. The brand is crafted for popular home-grown games such as Rummy, Bridge, Teen Patti, and other family favourites—blending tradition with enhanced design for today’s players.
Mr. Kapil Kejriwal, CEO & Managing Director, Parksons Cartamundi Private Limited said, “At Parksons Cartamundi, we believe cards are more than a product, they are a powerful vehicle for learning, strategy, and community building. Bridge Beyond the Table embodies our commitment to giving back to the communities that have supported us and fuelled our growth. By nurturing a new generation of sharp-minded Bridge enthusiasts, we aim to spark a nationwide movement that brings this intellectual sport into classrooms across India, transforming how young people think and play.
The event featured a prize pool of ₹50,000 for the players, adding to their excitement.
The event was organised by Tamarind Tree (tamarindtree.org) — an experiential learning school based in Dahanu catering to the local tribal children that operates at the intersection of nature, sport, and holistic education. Tamarind Tree’s vision of integrating meaningful sport into school life forms the backbone of this initiative.
Michelle C, Founder, Tamarind Tree & Event Organiser further added, “Tamarind Tree has always championed learning through real-world experience and not rote lessons. Hosting Bridge Beyond the Table at our campus in Dahanu is a dream come true – watching our students dive into workshops, then step onto the floor with professional players to discover Bridge’s strategic joys and competitive fire. This is the kind of transformative education that ignites passion and sticks for life.
Making the educational component of the event possible was Anantvikram Somani, Brand Envoy for Bonus by Parksons Cartamundi, who leveraged his extensive network within the Bridge community to identify and engage qualified teachers for the student workshops. The initiative also draws inspiration from Anshul Bhatt, one of India’s youngest and most accomplished Bridge players, whose achievements stand as a powerful demonstration to young students of what dedication to the game can achieve.
The event was supported by the Bridge Federation of India (BFI), the Maharashtra Bridge Association, Parksons Cartamundi, and Tamarind Tree School — reflecting the broad coalition behind this initiative.
Sri Debasish Ray, Hon. Gen. Secretary of the Bridge Federation of India also said, “The Bridge Federation of India is delighted to support this initiative. Introducing Bridge to school students in a structured, engaging way is exactly what the sport needs to grow. We commend Parksons Cartamundi and Tamarind Tree for creating an inspiring platform that will cultivate the next generation of strategic thinkers and players.
Bridge Beyond the Table is envisioned as the first step in an ongoing journey. Parksons Cartamundi is actively exploring expanding this initiative year-on-year, reaching more schools and colleges across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and beyond. The long-term goal is to establish Bridge as a recognised co-curricular sport in educational institutions — promoting critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and collaborative play among Indian youth.
