PizzaExpress strengthens its presence with the opening of its 40th restaurant in India and fifth restaurant in Bengaluru at Forum South Bengaluru

Bengaluru, September 2026: PizzaExpress, the UK’s No.1 pizza brand, has strengthened its presence in Bengaluru with the opening of its fifth restaurant at Forum South Bengaluru. The new restaurant marks another milestone in the brand’s expansion in India, taking PizzaExpress to 40 restaurants across the country while further strengthening its presence in one of India’s most dynamic dining markets.

Founded by Peter Boizot on London’s Wardour Street in Soho in 1965, PizzaExpress has grown into one of the UK’s most recognised restaurant brands. Today, it operates over 330 restaurants across the UK and is present in 13 countries worldwide.

Known for its vibrant food culture and cosmopolitan lifestyle, Bengaluru continues to be one of India’s leading culinary destinations. Home to a diverse community of professionals, students and young families, the city has embraced international cuisine while nurturing a thriving café and restaurant culture. As one of the country’s foremost lifestyle and retail hubs, Bengaluru remains a key market for PizzaExpress. The opening at Forum South Bengaluru further strengthens the brand’s presence across key neighborhoods and retail destinations in the city, including Indiranagar, Orion Mall and Phoenix Mall of Asia.

Commenting on the launch, Rohan Pewekar, Group CEO, Gourmet Investments Hospitality Group (GIHG), said, “Bengaluru has always been a strategically important market for PizzaExpress, and the opening of our fifth restaurant in Bangalore reflects our long-term commitment to the city. Forum South Bengaluru enables us to reach a growing community of guests in South Bengaluru while making the brand even more accessible. As we continue to expand across India, our focus remains on delivering exceptional food, consistent quality and the warm hospitality that PizzaExpress is known for.”

Designed as a relaxed dining space, the new restaurant brings together PizzaExpress favourites and seasonal offerings for every occasion. Guests can enjoy the brand’s iconic Dough Balls, gourmet pizzas for two starting at ₹495, handcrafted pastas, fresh salads, appetisers, desserts and refreshing beverages. The menu also features PizzaExpress’s signature Romana pizzas, renowned for their thinner, bigger and crispier bases inspired by the pizzas served in Rome.

At the heart of every PizzaExpress pizza is its signature tomato passata, produced by the Greci family in Parma, Italy, using sweet San Marzano tomatoes that are crushed within 12 hours of harvest and finished with a basil leaf. Every pizza begins with fresh dough, handcrafted daily by skilled pizzaiolos before being topped with carefully sourced ingredients and baked in traditional ovens.

Speaking about the brand’s culinary philosophy, Kumar Asit, Brand CEO, PizzaExpress, said, “At PizzaExpress, everything begins with quality ingredients, careful craftsmanship and consistency. From our signature Romana pizzas and iconic Dough Balls to handcrafted pastas, fresh salads, desserts and beverages, every dish is prepared with the same attention to flavour and authenticity. We’ve created our menu to suit every part of the day, whether it’s a quick lunch, an afternoon catch-up, a family dinner or a relaxed evening out. Whatever the occasion, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, and that’s what PizzaExpress is all about.”

One of the highlights of the menu is the Calabrese, created by Michelin-starred chef Francesco Mazzei. Combining bold Southern Italian flavours with premium cheeses and spicy sausage, it remains one of PizzaExpress’s most celebrated pizzas worldwide.

Sharing the brand philosophy, Shambhavi Mishra, Group Head of Marketing, Gourmet Investments Hospitality Group (GIHG), said, “Great food shouldn’t feel exclusive or reserved for special occasions. ‘Only For Everyone’ reflects our belief that gourmet dining should be approachable, consistent and welcoming. Whether guests join us for a family meal, an after-work catch-up, a quick bite or a celebration, PizzaExpress is designed to be a place where everyone feels at home. As we continue to grow in Bengaluru, we’re excited to welcome more people into the PizzaExpress experience.”
