Pure Love’s Fake Wedding at The LaLiT Great Eastern Kolkata concluded on 22 November 2025 with an evening that brought together joy, imagination, and unapologetic queer expression. The celebration transformed the venue into a vibrant, festive universe complete with a playful baarat, indulgent food experiences, and a series of unforgettable performances that kept guests immersed throughout the night.
Pure Love’s Fake Wedding was created from a place of longing, hope, and playful rebellion. In a country where queer marriage is still not legally recognised, the format offered the community a space to experience the joy, rituals, celebration, and tenderness of a wedding night on their own terms. It was not just an event—it was a reminder that love finds its way, even when the law has yet to follow. For one unforgettable evening, The LaLiT Great Eastern Kolkata became home to the most vibrant wedding the city could imagine: a baarat that danced with abandon, food that brought people together, and performances that stitched together humour, desire, and pride. It was a night where everyone—queer, allied, curious—could witness what a wedding built on pure love truly feels like. In its own quiet yet powerful way, it became Kolkata’s most memorable wedding celebration, not bound by legalities but carried entirely by heart.
The showcase featured Betta Naan Stop leading the celebrations with her unmistakable flair, setting the tone for an evening filled with warmth and humour. She was joined by Mysterious Munda, whose lively presence energised the crowd; the dynamic Hash Brownie; the charismatic John; the expressive and captivating Noor Sins; and Roxy, whose bold performance added a spirited edge to the lineup. Together, the artists created a seamless blend of storytelling, drag, dance, and theatrics that reflected the heart of queer artistry.
Guests moved between the celebratory chaos of the baarat, curated food stations, and the main drag showcase, creating a night that felt both festive and deeply personal. The atmosphere remained electric from start to finish, with audience participation becoming its own highlight as the celebration unfolded in unexpected, joyous moments.
Reflecting on the event, Miss Aashin Moitra, General Manager of Kitty Su and F&B at The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, shared, “Pure Love’s Fake Wedding has always been an expression of joy and queer imagination. This edition was a reminder of how beautifully our community comes together when given a space that honours creativity, individuality, and celebration. Watching the energy of the baarat, the laughter, the performances, and the shared moments of pride was truly special.”
This edition strengthened Kitty Su’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive cultural spaces and championing queer talent from across the country. Pure Love’s Fake Wedding continues to stand as one of Kitty Su’s most heartfelt formats—joyous, inventive, and built on the spirit of togetherness.
