New Delhi, October 16, 2025: Food Service India Pvt Ltd., India’s leading B2B food solutions provider, has announced the launch of a new range of shelf-stable boiled pulses under its brand Sunbay, catering to quick service restaurants (QSRs), mid-size and fine dining hotels, banquets, institutional kitchens, and cloud kitchens across the country. This new offering is designed to support chefs, caterers, and kitchen operators with convenient, high-quality pulses that simplify cooking processes and ensure consistent taste.

India is the world’s largest producer and consumer of pulses. With the Indian food service market valued at ₹4,980 crores in 2024 and projected to grow to ₹11,680 crores by 2033 at a CAGR of 10.3% (Custom Market Insights), the demand for efficient kitchen solutions is rising. Addressing this opportunity, Sunbay introduces Boiled Rajma, Boiled Chole, and Boiled Urad Dal. These pulses come fully cooked, vacuum-sealed, and hygienically packed, ensuring convenience, safety, and flavor.
The new range offers multiple operational benefits. The pulses are ready to use directly, requiring only tempering before serving. Preparation time is reduced by 70 to 80 percent, making them ideal for quick service restaurants, cloud kitchens, and catering operations where speed is essential. Each pack is uniformly processed to deliver consistent taste and texture, regardless of who prepares the dish. This supports standardized quality and improves the customer experience across locations.
Manpower requirements can be reduced by 20 to 30 percent as the prep process is simplified. Kitchens can reallocate staff to focus on cooking and presentation. Portion-controlled packs help reduce wastage, manage inventory better, and minimize overcooking or leftovers.
Ajay Mariwala, Managing Director, Food Service India Pvt Ltd., said: “With the launch of Sunbay’s boiled pulses range, we are enabling professional kitchens to prep less and serve more. We aim to help chefs save time without compromising on quality, taste, or control. This solution enhances both kitchen efficiency and profitability. On this World Food Day, we are taking our commitment towards ready to cook food much higher.”
