Ritika Mirchandani Introduces a Couture Line Framed by the Concept of ‘The Third Path”

Ritika Mirchandani’s upcoming collection, launching this August, is a quiet yet confident take on modern Indian couture. True to the brand’s signature, the pieces are rooted in Indian craftsmanship but shaped by a contemporary, structured silhouette. Known for her clean lines and intricate bugle work embroidery, Ritika creates designs that feel both timeless and forward-thinking.

This new collection draws from the idea of “the third path”, a space where opposites meet. It is not about choosing between tradition and modernity, but about holding space for both. Allowing dissonance, honouring tension, and letting contrast breathe, Titled The Third Path, this collection explores explores a nuanced balance between dualities. It is not about choosing between tradition and modernity, but about holding space for both. Allowing dissonance, honouring tension, and letting contrast breathe, The Third Path is a collection born from the collision of crafts, timelines, and philosophies. Rather than a visual blend, it’s a deliberate clash, one that feels present-day, yet anchored by centuries of artisanal heritage.

Every piece has been handcrafted using Ritika Mirchandani’s recognizable techniques, including bugle work, zari, aari, pita, kashida, and kasab embroidery. Each technique stands distinct and unsoftened: zari glows, aari whispers, kashida sings, kasab resists, pita sculpts. Together, they create harmony through contrast rather than uniformity.

The textures are geometric and layered, finishes are subtle, and tailoring is sharp. From belted jackets worn with lehenga-shararas to easy, pre-pleated sarees with a soft shimmer and delicately embroidered corsets, each look embodies a vocabulary of edges, a syntax of tradition rewritten.

The collection also features a small bridal edit, offering four to five looks that step away from heavy traditionalism. Think neat drapes, linear detailing, and silhouettes that are powerful yet graceful—bridalwear crafted for women who hold complexity without fear, and who find meaning in reinterpretation over nostalgia.

Many of the pieces in the collection carry visual cues from courtly regalia, Mughal florals, and Persian geometry, but these motifs have been fractured, mirrored, and recut. The result is garments that begin with the hand but end in rebellion, paying homage with one thread and challenging with the next.

Launching between August 8th and 10th, the collection will be previewed through private studio appointments for select stylists and members of the media. It will be available at Ritika Mirchandani’s flagship studio in Breach Candy, South Mumbai, and across leading multi-designer destinations including Pernia’s, Aza, Ensemble, Ogaan, KYNAH, and Elahe. For those shopping digitally, the full edit will also be accessible online at ritikamirchandani.com.

Crafted for those who live between identities, The Third Path is not a retreat into the past, it is a step forward. Guided by the past, but never bound to it.
