27 April, 2026: Research shows that 36% of cats display selective eating behaviour. This makes it imperative for cat parents to ensure their pets’ food caters to their pets’ palate as well as their nutritional requirements. To address this, Royal Canin, a pioneer in ‘Health through Nutrition’ for cats and dogs, has introduced Fussy Cat, a dry food tailored specifically for cats with selective appetites.

In the accompanying film a cat parent and creator discusses the everyday challenge of feeding fussy cats, captures the relatable experience of dealing with a selective eater and shares ways in which specially formulated cat food helps in addressing these challenges. The film highlights how Royal Canin Fussy Cat is designed to appeal to even the fussiest of eaters, making mealtime more enjoyable.

Crafted to deliver unmatched palatability to help your cat enjoy every meal to the fullest, while delivering complete and balanced nutrition, Fussy Cat’s formula features highly palatable, poultry-based proteins and fats. It also includes a crunchy texture and an aroma that’s bound to stimulate appetite. With a protein level of 40% and optimal digestive tolerance, Fussy Cat ensures holistic nutrition for cats, supporting regular feeding while maintaining overall health. But that’s not all.

Fussy Cat’s formula also focuses on healthy weight maintenance, as its nutrient-dense composition, high energy, and protein-rich formula helps meet nutritional needs with only small serving portions. This helps pet parents ensure their cats with selective eating habits receive adequate nutrition while maintaining a balanced weight.

Fussy Cat has been validated through extensive research, including a comprehensive CMI study involving 122 cat parents. The results? 86% agreed that the Fussy Cat diet addressed their cat’s fussiness. Additionally, after 2 months of use, 81% said they would recommend the product.

Commenting on the product launch, Satinder Singh, General Manager, Royal Canin India, said, “Selective eating in cats is a common trait, which can be misunderstood as a behavioural issue. Our research shows that it’s often closely linked to sensory expectations and digestive comfort. With Fussy Cat, we have focused on aligning taste, texture, and nutritional precision to meet these specific needs. Cat parents can now ensure their cats are well-fed and receive all their nutritional requirements from Fussy Cat, which offers a balanced, holistic, and palatable diet.”
