SBI donates Ambulance, Medical Equipment and Water Purifiers as part of CSR initiatives

Mumbai, February 02, 2026: State Bank of India, Mumbai Metro Circle under its Corporate Social Responsibility has contributed ₹2.1 crore for various initiatives in the healthcare space, including donation of ambulance and installation of water purifiers, in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts. The donations were presented by Shri C.S.Setty, Chairman SBI in the presence of Smt. Manju Sharma, Chief General Manager, Mumbai Metro Circle and other senior officials of the Bank.

SBI undertook the following CSR initiatives:

  1. Donation of one Cardiac Ambulance worth ₹ 26.49 lacs to Matoshree Gangubai Sambhaji Shinde Hospital, Thane to strengthen emergency healthcare services for the economically weaker section of the society.
  2. Provision of Medical Equipment device and testing kits valued at ₹ 73.80 lacs to six Primary Health Centre’s under District Health Officer, Zilla Parishad Palghar to facilitate testing for sickle cell anemia and beta thalassemia in tribal areas of Wada, Vasai, Dahanu, Jawahar, Mokhada, Saphale Tehsils of Palghar Dist.
  3. Installation of RO water purifier and cooler to 100 Zilla Parishad Schools of Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, and Raigad districts amounting to ₹73.75 lacs for providing safe drinking water facility to the students of these schools. 
  4. Installation of Sanitary Pad Incinerators in 46 schools across Mumbai, Thane and Palghar districts, at a cost of ₹37.54 lacs promoting hygiene and menstrual health awareness.

These CSR initiatives at the hands of Chairman SBI, Shri C.S.Setty, reflects SBI’s  enduring commitment through well-structured and impactful CSR programmes that balance economic growth with social progress and environmental stewardship.
