Social Launches “Mumbai Local Heroes” Menu A Bold Celebration Of The City’s Culinary Spirit

Mumbai, 09 May 2025: SOCIAL, India’s favourite neighbourhood café, has launched an all-new ‘Mumbai Local Heroes’ menu, a curated collection of dishes that pays tribute to the rich, diverse, and dynamic flavors of Mumbai’s food culture. This innovative menu marries tradition with modern culinary creativity, offering an unforgettable journey through the heart of Mumbai. Inspired by local street food vendors and classic recipes, the menu also pays homage to the rich flavours of city. The new menu will be available all 17 SOCIAL outlets in Mumbai including Colaba, Khar, Palladium, Carter Road, Vashi, Vikhroli, Versova, Malad, Chembur, Ghatkopar, New Cuffe Parade, Capital (BKC), Goregaon, Dadar, Nesco, Powai and Thane.

A Taste of Mumbai

Bringing together a mix of nostalgic favorites and fresh interpretations, the ‘Mumbai Local Heroes’ menu reflects SOCIAL’s deep connection to the city’s neighbourhoods, each with its own distinct flavors and stories. The new menu will feature bold, familiar flavors of Mumbai with a SOCIAL twist.

The Samosa Bhakarwadi with Thecha brings a fiery kick where the flaky, savory samosa filling meets the sharp, chili-laden thecha. The Beet(root) That Toastie is a warm and indulgent delight, combining the earthy sweetness of beetroot with the richness of melted cheese – the addition of punchy garlic chutney elevates the flavor profile, while the Kothimbir Vadi make for the perfect snack, the bite-sized crunchy fritters are served with coconut chutney. The Crispy Chana Garlic packs a bold, savory crunch with golden-fried Kabuli chana tossed in aromatic garlic and crisp curry leaves. The Kandivali Fried Chicken delivers perfectly crisp, juicy fried chicken paired with a refreshing mint chutney. For something uniquely indulgent, the Pohe Bhujing features BBQ chicken cooked with poha, Savji-style.

Seafood lovers can dig into the East Indian Fish N Chips, where rawa-fried bombil meets crisp banana chips, or the Hirva Masala Zinga, featuring prawns cooked in green thecha with potatoes. The Prawns Koliwada, a nod to Mumbai’s coastal flavors, presents batter-fried prawns with green chutney. For meat lovers, the Kombadi Wade Kala Mutton Taco reinvents the traditional kala mutton and kombadi wade into a bold, handheld bite. To end on a sweet note, the Teen Leches Bread & Butter Pudding offers a rich and comforting Mumbai-style dessert.
