Mumbai, India, October 1, 2026: Students from Sanjivani Academy, Kopargaon, Maharashtra, won two of the three national titles at the 2026 edition of Blix-A-Thon, a school robotics competition that concluded in Goa recently in partnership with WSRO (World STEM & Robotics Olympiad).
Team Siddharth from Sanjivani Academy won the Robo Sprint Challenge, while the school’s Gear Gurus won the Robo Precision Challenge. The third national title, The Ultimate Maze, was won by Maze Matrix from Omkar Cambridge International School, Dombivili.
The national championship brought together more than 100 teams and 400 students who had qualified through regional rounds held across Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Surat and Bhopal.
The 2026 edition began in April and took the competition to these seven cities, with more than 200 schools and 1,500 students participating across the regional and national stages. Students first competed in their respective cities before the qualifying teams travelled to Goa for the national championship.
The regional rounds gave students from different parts of the country an opportunity to compete closer to home before progressing to the national stage. The qualifying teams then came together in Goa to compete for the national titles.
The national championship was conducted in partnership with WSRO, bringing together the teams that qualified through the seven regional rounds for the final stage of the competition.
The three challenges at the national level were divided by age group. Robo Sprint was open to students aged 8 to 12, Robo Precision was for students aged 12 to 16, and The Ultimate Maze was open to students aged 8 and above.
For the winning students from Sanjivani Academy, the national titles marked the culmination of a competition journey that began at the regional level. The teams progressed through the regional rounds before securing their places at the Goa finale, where they competed against qualifying teams from across the country.
“We started this year’s Blix-A-Thon with the idea of taking the competition to students in more cities and giving them an opportunity to compete at the national level. Taking the regional rounds to seven cities was a new step for us, and watching teams compete, qualify and make their way to Goa has made the journey incredibly meaningful. Seeing students from different schools and cities come together at the national stage made the finale particularly special,” said Abbas Gabajiwala, Founder and CEO of Blix Education.
The competition required students to build and operate robots while completing challenges based on speed, precision and problem-solving. Students also had an opportunity to compete against teams from schools in different cities and interact with fellow participants during the national event.
The competition featured prizes worth more than ₹2.8 lakh across its regional and national stages, along with trophies and certificates for winners and qualifiers.
Inavamsi B. Enaganti, CEO of Param Foundation, and Sitara Srinivasan, Founder of Naxxatra Sciences and Collaborative Research, attended the national championship as chief guests.
With the Goa finale, Blix-A-Thon 2026 concluded a six-month competition journey that took school robotics to Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Surat and Bhopal, before bringing the qualifying students together for the national championship in Goa.
Blix Education plans to expand the competition to more cities in its next edition and introduce additional robotics challenges for school students.
