Synchrony & the United Way : healthcare infrastructure of Government Hospitals in Telangana and Mumbai

Hyderabad: 01st September, 2021: Synchrony (NYSE: SYF), a premier consumer financial services company has partnered with the United Way of Hyderabad (UWH) and Mumbai (UWM) to help improve healthcare infrastructure providing critical care to those in need.  

This Synchrony grant enables  UWH to provide 24 multipara monitors, 5 para cardiac monitors – Scanray – TrueScan S500, 100 CPAP machines, 2970 – NRBM masks, 150000 RAT Kits, 40 oxygen concentrator – 10L, 220 oxygen flowmeter, 220 – B-Type oxygen cylinders and an RNA extractor for Adilabad district to Telangana State Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporations (TSMSIDC). The equipment purchased using the grant was presented to Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy, MD, Telangana State Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation. Joining him from Synchrony wereGangadharabhatla, Vice President, Human Resources – Asia and Diversity & Recruitment COE Leader, and Ramesh Kambhampati, Vice President, Finance, as well as representatives from UWH. The equipment will be distributed to help improve critical care infrastructure at key tertiary and specialty hospitals like Gandhi, TIMS, Osmania, Niloufer, Chest Hospital, and NIMS to deal with critical COVID-19 patients and  post-COVID-19 complications.

Synchrony also extended support through a grant to UWM to improve public health infrastructure and support low-income communities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This will enable UWM to provide 35 Fowler beds, 13 oxygen concentrators, 6000 PPE kits, and 17500 N-95 masks to two hospitals in Mumbai. In addition, to assist families suffering from the loss of income faced by communities due to the pandemic, 626 families of daily wage earners, small business owners, and self-employed persons will be provided with family essentials kits. These kits will consist of food and hygiene items to suffice a family of 4-5 members for a month.
