From Days to 10 Seconds: AI Accountant Launches AiA Bot on WhatsApp New AI assistant gives founders instant access to cash flow, receivables, sales and other financial data without logging into accounting software or waiting for their finance team Bengaluru, September 8th, 2026: AI Accountant has launched AiA Bot, a WhatsApp accounting assistant that allows founders and business owners to access key financial information in about 10 seconds by simply asking questions in natural language. For many founders, getting an update on their cash position, receivables, sales or outstanding payments can take hours and sometimes until the next morning, as they wait for their accountant or finance team to respond. AiA Bot puts that information directly on WhatsApp, using data from their synced accounting books. The problem is not simply that financial information is difficult to obtain. Most accounting software was built for accountants, not founders. Few founders want to log into an accounting system, navigate ledgers or interpret accounting reports just to answer a basic business question. As a result, founders often remain dependent on their CA or finance team for routine financial updates. AiA Bot is designed to change that. Instead of logging into accounting software or waiting for someone to prepare a report, founders can simply ask a question on WhatsApp and receive an answer from their live accounting data. The product was piloted for six weeks between July 24 and September 2 across 122 businesses, generating more than 1,600 messages and around 700 financial queries. The pilot provides insight into the financial information founders want most frequently. Ledger and party balances accounted for 33 percent of queries, followed by custom analysis, including customer and vendor rankings and cash flow, at 20 percent. Receivables accounted for 18 percent, revenue and sales for 14 percent and payables for 13 percent. This gives founders direct access to critical financial information, from customer and vendor balances to receivables, sales and payables, without navigating reports or waiting for their finance team to pull the numbers. “Millions of business owners in India are constantly on the move and increasingly run their businesses from WhatsApp. They don’t want another complicated application or another dashboard to navigate just to understand their finances. We built AiA Bot so that they can simply ask about their cash position, receivables or payments and get the information they need on WhatsApp. The idea is to make interacting with your books as simple as having a conversation,” said Rohan Sinha, Head of Growth, AI Accountant. The information provided through AiA Bot is as current as the company’s accounting books. As long as the books are updated, founders can access the latest available numbers rather than depend on periodic reports. The shift is from waiting for financial information to having it on demand. Founders no longer have to depend entirely on their CA or finance team for routine updates. They can access the latest available numbers and make faster decisions around collections, payments, cash flow and other day-to-day business priorities. AiA Bot also allows businesses to upload or forward purchase bills directly through WhatsApp. Nearly 1,000 bills were uploaded during the pilot, with bills processed in under 10 seconds. At the current run rate, AI Accountant estimates the bot is eliminating around 24 hours of manual bill handling every week, or more than 100 hours a month. The busiest business during the pilot saved six hours of manual bill handling in a single week. Usage accelerated during the six-week pilot, with weekly messages increasing from six to 572 and active businesses growing from three to 50. AiA Bot currently supports both English and Hindi. AI Accountant plans to expand AiA Bot from providing financial information to helping founders interpret and act on it. The roadmap includes daily financial briefs covering revenue, expenses, receivables and cash positions, alerts on overdue collections and upcoming payments, and conversational access to P&L and cash flow reports. Anomaly detection for unusual spending, margin slippage, vendor overcharges and overdue invoices is also planned. The company is targeting one lakh AiA Bot users by the end of 2026. About AI Accountant AI Accountant is a full-stack accounting platform built for startups and small and medium businesses. It automates repetitive finance workflows while giving founders and finance teams greater visibility into cash flows, receivables, payables and overall business performance.
