Bengaluru, 26 May 2026: TechnoSport, India’s largest activewear brand, has partnered with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) for the 8th Indian Open Para Athletics Championship 2026, scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium. As the Silver Sponsor this partnership aligns with the brand’s latest campaign ‘Real Movement’, bringing together over 350 of India’s leading para-athletes, including Paralympians, Asian Para Games medallists, World Para Athletics Championship performers, and emerging talents.
Organised by PCI, the recognised National Sports Federation for para sports under the Government of India and the Sports Authority of India, and an affiliated member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the championship holds added significance as it will serve as the final selection trial for the Indian contingent heading to the 5th edition of the Asian Para Games 2026, scheduled to be held from October 18–24, 2026, in Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya, Japan. Additionally, athletes from Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines are also expected to participate, making the event a significant international showcase for para-athletics in the region.
Adding further strength to its association with the championship, TechnoSport will also be represented at the event by two accomplished para-athletes, Sujith MS and Nitin Baliyan. From Delhi, Sujith MS, competes in the T13 category for visually impaired athletes, and will participate in the 100m, 400m, and long jump events, while Nitin Baliyan, a T35 category athlete competing with cerebral palsy, will take part in the 100m and 200m sprint events. Through its support for athletes competing across disciplines, TechnoSport continues to reinforce its commitment towards enabling greater representation, accessibility, and excellence within India’s sporting ecosystem.
Commenting on TechnoSport’s association with the championship, Patralika Agrawal, Head of Marketing, said, “At TechnoSport, we believe sport has the power to create meaningful change and inspire real movement across India. Supporting the Open Para Athletics Championship reflects our commitment towards building a more inclusive sporting ecosystem, while encouraging athletes who embody resilience, determination, and excellence at the highest level.”
Speaking about the championship, Devendra Jhajharia, President, Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), said, “Sports also acts as a powerful catalyst for physically challenged individuals to unlock their potential, build confidence, and shape a brighter future through determination and achievement. Indian Paralympians today stand as role models for the next generation, inspiring millions through their perseverance and accomplishments. This partnership with Technosport who have been enablers of movement throughout their journey, is a natural fit, and we look forward to a successful partnership.”
