Thalassemia “Walk For A Cause” to be conducted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 05 May, Friday, 2023: On the occasion of World Thalassemia Day, Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), twin cities branch are conducting a special walk called “Walk For A Cause” at Necklace road, Hyderabad on 8th May, Monday, 2023 at 6AM. The assembling point for the walk is “Love Hyderabad Sculpture” (Necklace Road). Dr. Chandrakant Agarwal, TSCS President and TSCS team members along with Dr. Laxman Garlapati, President, IAP, Dr. N. L. Sridhar, Secretary, IAP, Dr. RSV Srikrishna, Treasurer, IAP will also going to be the part of the walk. 

The participations are expected to participate in huge numbers which include parents and friends of thalassemia patients, eminent medical professionals and luminaries.  The walk is being organized to promote the mission to save human lives by eradication of Thalassemia forever. 

Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. With the aim of eradicating Thalassemia forever, Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society and Indian Academy of Paediatrics have come together to raise awareness and support for this noble cause.

Speaking about the walk Dr. Chandrakant Agarwal, TSCS President said “We are proud to host the ‘Walk for Cause’ campaign on World Thalassemia Day. Through this event, we hope to raise awareness and support for Thalassemia patients and their families. We believe that by working together, we can eradicate Thalassemia forever. We invite everyone to join us in this noble cause and make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease.”
