The Biere Club Introduces Açai Berry Brown Ale to Bengaluru

Bengaluru, India, December 2025 – The Biere Club introduces ABBA (Açai Berry Brown Ale), bringing a rare and distinctive brew to Bengaluru’s craft beer landscape. The beer is now available at the brewery’s Lavelle Road and HSR Layout outlets, offering beer enthusiasts something truly unique to toast with this new year.

The brew pairs the malt-forward character of a traditional brown ale with açai berries sourced and processed specifically for brewing – an ingredient combination rarely seen in Indian craft beer and not previously available in Bengaluru. Rather than creating sharp fruitiness, the açai integrates as a subtle berry undertone that complements the darker malts. The recipe also incorporates organic honey and basil, adding layers of sweetness and herbal notes, a complexity that makes it an ideal companion for festive gatherings and year-end celebrations.

According to Rohit Parwani, Head Brewer at The Biere Club, “Sourcing and processing açai presented technical challenges, particularly in preserving the berry’s flavor profile while ensuring it worked within the beer’s malt structure. Açai is an ingredient that’s extremely rare in brewing, even globally. Getting it to work harmoniously with a brown ale required extensive experimentation and precision,” he explains.

The new brew represents The Biere Club’s continued focus on ingredient experimentation and pushing boundaries within Indian craft brewing. The brewery has built a reputation for exploring unconventional flavor combinations, from incorporating local Indian ingredients to reimagining classic beer styles with unexpected additions. This latest release continues that trajectory, demonstrating a willingness to source globally and experiment boldly while maintaining the technical integrity of traditional brewing styles.

The timing of the release adds another layer to the new year period, Bengaluru’s craft beer community something new and conversation-worthy to experience. With açai-infused beers being virtually absent from the city’s craft beer scene, ABBA offers drinkers a chance to experience a style that’s as unique as it is approachable. The beer’s rich, layered profile makes it equally suited for intimate holiday dinners and lively New Year’s Eve gatherings.

The beer is available as a limited release at both Bengaluru locations.
