Delhi, August 17, 2026: A retail industry veteran with nearly three decades of experience, Jain is recognised for building and scaling large-format retail businesses through strategic leadership, operational excellence, business transformation, and customer-centric growth.
Sharing his new role on LinkedIn as Chief Operating Officer – Fashion & Lifestyle Business at Reliance Retail, Jain will lead the operations function across the Fashion & Lifestyle business. His responsibilities include driving operational excellence, enhancing customer experience, accelerating business development and network expansion, strengthening asset productivity, and supporting the next phase of sustainable and profitable growth.
Prior to joining Reliance Retail, Jain served as Chief Operating Officer at V-Mart Retail Ltd., where he led one of the company’s most significant transformation journeys. He drove manifold growth in business scale, expanded the company’s national retail footprint, strengthened profitability, and spearheaded large-scale customer, operational and digital transformation initiatives. His leadership was instrumental in building a stronger, more agile, and future-ready retail organisation.
Before V-Mart, Jain spent over 17 years with Future Group, where he held several leadership positions, including CEO – North India. He played an instrumental role in building and scaling leading retail formats such as Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, and FBB. He also led the development of the Big Bazaar GEN NXT format and successfully drove the turnaround of businesses including Easyday and Big Apple.
Earlier, Jain was part of the founding leadership team at Vishal Retail Ltd. (now Vishal Mega Mart), where he contributed to building one of India’s pioneering organised retail businesses. He began his professional career in the textile and financial services industries, building a strong foundation in business operations and finance.
Jain is a Chartered Accountant (ICAI), Cost Accountant (ICMAI), Company Secretary (Inter), and a Commerce graduate from the University of Calcutta. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, IIM Ahmedabad, and has completed the Executive Leadership Programme at INSEAD, France.
