XLRI Delhi-NCR Sets New Benchmark with Inaugural Global Banking & Finance Conference 2026

Delhi-NCR, February 12, 2026: XLRI Delhi-NCR a premier management institution recognised for academic excellence, industry engagement, and policy-focused research successfully concluded its maiden Global Banking and Finance Conference 2026, held from February 5th to the 7th, 2026 at its campus. The three day conference brought together globally renowned scholars, financial sector leaders, regulators, and researchers to deliberate on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities shaping the future of banking and finance.

The conference witnessed an exceptional international response with over 175 research paper submissions from premier institutions including Harvard University, University of Oxford, and the London School of Economics. Following a stringent peer review process, 73 high impact papers were presented across 24 themed sessions, covering areas such as AI and ML in Finance, Microfinance and Financial Inclusion, Climate Risks, ESG, and Bankruptcy. The event commenced with a day-long pre conference tutorial, equipping young researchers with advanced analytical tools and research perspectives. The conference received strong support from leading Indian financial sector organisations.

A highlight of the event was the participation of an eminent panel of keynote speakers, featuring Prof. John H. Cochrane (Stanford University), Prof. Vikas Agarwal (Georgia State University), Prof. Marcin Kacperczyk (Imperial College London), and Prof. Madhu Kalimipalli (Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada). The conference was further enriched by the presence of Guests of Honour Mr. Ashwini Kumar Tiwari, Managing Director, State Bank of India, and Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Whole Time Member, SEBI, who shared practitioner and regulatory perspectives on building a resilient and inclusive financial ecosystem in the age of social media and AI.

As part of the conference proceedings, a vibrant Cultural Evening was organised on February 06, 2026. The evening featured captivating performances by Padmshree Dr. Mahabir Guddu’s Troupe, who enthralled the audience with soulful Haryanvi folk songs. The performances were received with great enthusiasm, and attendees thoroughly enjoyed the celebration of regional culture and music, adding a memorable cultural dimension to the global academic gathering.

Speaking on the successful conclusion of the conference, Fr. Nelson A. Participants appreciated the depth of academic exchange and the opportunity to engage directly with industry and regulatory leaders.

With this inaugural edition, XLRI Delhi-NCR has established the Global Banking and Finance Conference as a significant annual platform for advancing research-led dialogue in the financial sector.
