Zee Kutumb Awards: Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan’s Sheizaan Khan Breaks Down on Stage

Dreams, perseverance, and a mother’s unwavering strength came together in one unforgettable moment at the Zee Kutumb Awards when Sheizaan Khan, who plays Siddhu in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, received the first award of his career. What began as a celebratory moment soon turned deeply emotional as the actor was left completely taken aback by a surprise planned by the Zee Kutumb team. As the award was about to be presented, Sheizaan was stunned to see his mother walk onto the stage to hand him the trophy. The unexpected gesture left him visibly shocked, and for a few moments, he struggled to process what was happening. As the realization slowly sank in that his own mother would be presenting him with the first award of his life, Sheizaan broke down on stage. Overwhelmed with emotion, he shared that two of his biggest dreams had come true in that very moment, receiving his first-ever award and receiving it from the hands of his mother.

Unable to hold back his tears, Sheizaan said, “This is my first-ever award. No words can describe the emotions I am feeling right now. I’m sorry I’m taking time to say what I want to say, but this is overwhelming. What can I say? I am speechless. Every actor dreams of the day when he will receive his first-ever award. I also had this dream, but my biggest dream was that whenever I received my first award, I wished it would be from my mother’s hands. And today, as both my dreams have come true, I don’t know how to react or what to say.”

Making the moment even more meaningful, Sheizaan mother shared an emotional story that mirrored the journey of Ganga Mai from his show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan. She said, “What a lot of people don’t know is that my journey and Ganga Mai’s journey are similar in one aspect. In the show, when Ganga Mai’s husband abandons her, she starts a food business to support her family. Similarly, when Sheizaan was just eight or nine years old, I too started a food business to support my family.” This heartfelt revelation struck a deep emotional chord with the audience and highlighted the strength of a mother who, much like Ganga Mai, stood strong against all odds to support her family and raise her children.

The Zee Kutumb Awards 2026 celebrated the spirit of aspirational India and the strong sense of community that defines Indian families. The red carpet welcomed beloved stars from the channel’s popular shows including Tumm Se Tumm Tak, Saru, Vasudha, Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, Jagadhatri, Lakshmi Niwas, and Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, who arrived not just as stars, but as members of one large Zee Kutumb.

Tune in to witness the biggest celebration of the Zee family – the Zee Kutumb Awards 2026, airing on 22nd March at 7pm, only on Zee TV!
