Zepto Unpacks How India Shopped Faster, Smarter and More Curiously in 2025

Bangalore, 29th December 2025: As 2024 draws to a close, Zepto reflects on a year defined by speed, scale and evolving consumer behaviour across India. From everyday essentials to unexpected combinations, Zepto’s latest trends data offers a snapshot of how India shopped over the year.

During 2025, the Zepto app was opened 3,46,41,64,197 times, underscoring the platform’s growing role in everyday life. Delivery partners collectively travelled 24,52,95,068 kilometres, equivalent to a non-stop supersonic flight around the Earth for nearly 11 years. The fastest delivery recorded during the year was completed in just 48 seconds.

Thanks to faster access, smarter shopping and competitive pricing, Indian consumers saved an estimated INR 17,000 crore by shopping on Zepto, reinforcing the platform’s ability to deliver speed with savings at scale.

Big Orders. Bigger Legends.

  • Yasin from Mumbai placed a jaw-dropping order worth INR 1,89,900.
  • Rajkumar L emerged as a true Zepto legend with 5,894 deliveries, averaging 16 orders a day.
  • Priyanshu from Gurugram tipped generously, giving out INR 54,000 in tips..

City-Level Shopping Trends

Bengaluru

  • Most ordered items: 
    • Nandini Milk (88L units)
    • Tomatoes (78L units)
    • Bingo Chips (21L units)
  • A total of 69,177 Type-C charging cables were ordered, highlighting last-minute tech needs.
  • Coffee and melatonin gummies were ordered together 5,279 times, capturing Bengaluru’s constant tug-of-war between staying awake and trying to sleep.

Mumbai

  • Most ordered items: 
    • Amul Milk (90L units)
    • Onions (51L units)
    • Bisleri Water (17L units)
  • 7,84,637 litres of energy drinks consumed. The city truly doesn’t sleep.
  • Snacks and condoms were ordered together 37,193 times, proving that convenience often means planning for more than one kind of craving

Delhi NCR

  • Most ordered items: 
    • Amul Fresh Milk (72L units)
    • Onions (27L units)
    • Lay’s Magic Masala (23L units)
  • Face masks continued to be a key essential, with 1,31,764 units ordered.
  • North Delhi showed a preference for guavas with 4,41,821 units ordered, while South Delhi leaned towards avocados with 3,18,552 units.
  • Eno and Schezwan chutney were ordered together 3,759 times

Hyderabad

  • Most ordered items: 
    • Heritage Milk (56L units)
    • Bingo! (26L units)
    • Thums Up (14.6L units)
  • Morning tea was incomplete without 65,105 kgs of Osmania biscuits.
  • Sugar-free products and sweets were ordered together 682 times, because “the diet starts tomorrow” is officially scheduled for 2026.
