June 19, 2014: Fashion portal Myntra launched a new campaign titled ‘Live for Likes’ targeting the youth. The new campaign shows young people taking a picture of themselves and sharing it on social media platforms where the pictures get ‘Likes’ from friends and family. The new TVC conceptualised by Lowe Lintas and Partners encourages the youth to dress fashionably with things bought from Myntra.

Speaking about the launch of the new ‘Live for Likes’ campaign, Vikas Ahuja, Chief Marketing Officer, Myntra, was quoted as saying  “These days, people try to look their best while sharing pictures of themselves – often it is as important, or more important, to look good online as it is in real life.” He added that “ ‘Live for Likes’ is a well conceptualized campaign where our creative team Lowe has tapped into this insight and married it with the key role that fashion plays in helping people look good.”

Lowe Lintas worked on the new TVC with thinking that “while a whole lot of fashion players have built their brand in the offline space, as an online e-commerce player we saw an opportunity to create a brand which could own fashion that makes you look great online” said GV Krishnan, Executive Director, Lowe Lintas Bangalore. The film shows a young woman who has been delivered a package from Myntra dressing herself taking a selfie. A young man with a hat and other accessories is also seen taking a selfie. These people then post their snaps on social media where they get likes and a song in the background plays “That is how you get your likes”.
