Chakan, Maharashtra, March 17, 2026 Marking the spirit of Women’s Day and reinforcing its commitment to community development, Raychem RPG Private Limited organized the Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP) Certificate Distribution Ceremony on March 5, 2026. The initiative was undertaken under the CSR framework supported by RPG Foundation.
Through this program, around 128 women from nearby communities have been trained and equipped with practical skills to enable livelihood opportunities and financial independence. Building on last year’s initiative in Chakan, which focused on GDA Nursing, this year’s program was expanded to include Tailoring (28 participants, 60 days), Beautician (36 participants, 60 days), and GDA – Nursing (70 participants, 90 days) with a focused objective of enhancing employability and supporting women in communities around the company’s operations.
The ceremony was graced by the Honourable MLA of Khed, Babaji Ramchandra Kale, who attended as the Chief Guest and encouraged participants to leverage their skills to build sustainable livelihoods. Sharda Hondule, Additional Director – Industrial Safety & Health, also addressed the gathering and motivated the beneficiaries.
Representing Raychem RPG, Sharad Dhawale, Business Head – Transformers, and Suzan Meshramkar, HR Head, were present. Certificates and training kits were distributed to the women who successfully completed the training, while alumni from earlier batches now earning sustainable incomes were also felicitated.
Speaking on the initiative, Sharad Dhawale said, “Through WEDP, we are equipping women with skills that enable sustainable livelihoods and financial independence. It is encouraging to see this initiative creating real impact in the communities around our Chakan operations.”
The program was implemented by Aastha Social Foundation and continues to create a meaningful impact by encouraging women to pursue skill development and entrepreneurship. Aligned with its Values of being Always Relentless and Forward Thinking, Raychem RPG continues to drive social impact by enabling women to build self-reliant and confident futures.
As part of its broader CSR initiatives, Raychem RPG continues to support education and community infrastructure.
At a residential Ashramshala in Halol, housing nearly 180 students, the company improved basic sanitation by constructing and renovating separate hygienic washroom facilities and developing a well-lit access pathway for safer movement. Further expansion is underway to enhance learning and residential infrastructure, including additional classrooms and accommodation facilities.
Raychem RPG also supports the Signal School initiative by Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth in Thane, which enables underprivileged children from streets and traffic signals to access mainstream education. The program provides holistic support, including education, meals, transportation, and opportunities for overall development.
Through initiatives such as WEDP and its continued investments in education, skill development, and community welfare, Raychem RPG remains committed to advancing inclusive and sustainable development in the communities around its operations.
