First Light Media powers the launch of aha 2.0


The famous Telugu online streaming platform called ‘Aha’ was officially launched on 25th March 2020. It is a joint venture of Geetha Arts with My Home Group that offers Telugu content.

Aha was launched on Telugu Ugadi. The famous Tollywood hero “Icon Star Allu Arjun” is its brand ambassador. In less than a year, they acquired 1 million subscribers, and by July 2021, aha gained 1.5 million subscribers and 40 million-plus users.

In August 2021, aha launches, aha kids, a sub-branch focusing on kids. It is to release on 10th September on the occasion of Vinayaka Chathurti.

The service began its operation by acquiring digital rights for Arjun Suravaram, Khaithi (Telugu dubbed version), and Choosi Chudangane.

The aha streaming service is using First Light Media’s industry-first end-to-end cloud-native OTT as the technology foundation to power its next phases of growth in India and beyond, the two companies announced.

Aha has launched a new universe as well as a local strategy that gear up a 100% cloud-based infrastructure to deliver localized services in different markets, which are powered by a single, common backend.

The expanded aha 2.0 is a Telugu-language offering that reaches 1.5 million paid subscribers and more than 75 million Telugu-speaking users not only in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but also all over India and in more than 190+ countries across the world.

The service characteristics are the fast, smooth, smart user experience across multiple devices including mobiles, tablets, browsers, Smart TVs, and connected devices, multi-language capabilities; and enhanced personalization and customized recommendations which are designed to increase subscribers commitment with aha’s unparalleled line-up of exclusive Telugu content.

Aha’s line-up for the 2.0 service includes digital premiers of highly anticipated movies as well as 10 original shows that are being produced specially for the aha 2.0 platform.

Many new shows announced for 2.0 service like ‘Unstoppable’ with NBK, a talk show hosted by Tollywood actor ‘Nandamuri Balakrishna’ as well as Telugu Idol, an inspired program based on American Idol & Indian Idol, and blockbuster movies like ‘Love Story’ and ‘ ‘Most eligible Bachelor (MEB)’ and much more premium Telugu movies and originals.
