Apple rolls out iTunes stores in India and Indonesia

Dec 4, 2012: When Apple launched many of its iTunes stores in Asia in June; it had left out India and Indonesia which totally has got nearly 1.4 billion people. Now the iPhone maker has started rolling out its iTunes stores in India and Indonesia. Apple iTunes Store will offer both music and movie content from domestic market and as well as international market. Apple has come out with iTunes Match as well which allows users to store music which they have purchased from other than iTunes from iCloud. The individual songs will sold at a price of Rs.7-15 through Apple iTunes Stores and a full album will cost Rs.70. With this iTunes Store will taken on online music streaming sites like Gaana.com and also services like BoxTV. The service has been launched at an attractive price in Indonesia as well. How well Apple benefits from this move needs to be seen looking into the internet penetration of both the countries which stands at 10% in India and less than 20% in Indonesia.
