Bengaluru, 8th September 2026: The BC Jindal Foundation, the CSR arm of one of India’s leading business conglomerates, the BC Jindal Group, has announced that its Shelter Home Programme has directly benefitted over 1000 individuals belonging to vulnerable groups across the Delhi National Capital Region. Over the past five years, the Foundation has committed Rs 3 crore towards the programme, providing care and support to more than 100 people on average every day, throughout the year.
The BC Jindal Group, led by Shyam Sunder Jindal, Promoter, BC Jindal Group, through its foundation’s initiative, addresses critical needs related to the physical health, emotional well-being and social inclusion of marginalized senior citizens and abandoned children. The programme provides highly nutritious meals throughout the day, and round-the-clock medical care delivered by qualified doctors, nurses and trained caregivers.
The Foundation offers support through a special-care unit, diagnostic facilities and physiotherapy services at the old-age home. At the Children’s Home, the programme provides safe and nutritious food, educational support, skill development and a nurturing, family-like environment.
During FY 2025–26, the BC Jindal Foundation invested more than ₹70 lakh to provide year-round residential care and support to 160 beneficiaries. In the current financial year, the Foundation plans to invest ₹80 lakh and extend year-round residential care to 180 beneficiaries.
“The Foundation addresses a systemic challenge across regions in India. With the Shelter Home Programme, our goal is to provide abandoned children and vulnerable senior citizens with a safe, stable and holistic care that meets their health, nutritional, educational, emotional and psychosocial needs while enabling them to live with dignity, security and a sense of belonging,” said a BC Jindal Group spokesperson.
BC Jindal Group’s Shelter Home Programme is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and is working towards achieving SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
The foundation, through its implementing partner, has been providing a stable, and nurturing family-like environment to abandoned children, ensuring their educational, emotional, psychological, and health needs through individualized care and long-term well-being. It also provides integrated residential care for abandoned and vulnerable elderly people. This includes shelter, regular medical supervision, nursing and caregiving support, nutritious meals, hygiene maintenance, psychosocial engagement and rehabilitation services. The intervention aims to reduce preventable suffering, support the management of chronic illnesses and restore dignity among vulnerable senior citizens.
“The impact of this initiative extends beyond the provision of food and shelter. For children, regular nutrition, education and emotional support contribute to healthier development and greater stability. For elderly residents, the programme restores dignity, strengthens access to care and reduces the physical and emotional strain associated with neglect, isolation and chronic illness,” the spokesperson added.
The BC Jindal Group has planned a total investment of Rs 43 crore for various CSR projects across India during FY26. Through this, the foundation plans to focus on improving healthcare, skill development, animal welfare, and nutrition by expanding its ongoing initiatives and introducing new projects under its CSR program. The BC Jindal Group plans to intensify its CSR operations in the states of Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana, and Maharashtra, among others.
