SUBMISSIONS OPEN

Bengaluru, 30 January 2024: Bengaluru International Short Film Festival™ (BISFF) , the only Oscar® Academy Qualifying Festival in INDIA for Short Film Awards is pleased to announce that, BISFF has opened its submissions for films from 1 February 2024.

BISFF was created as a platform for young and amateur filmmakers, where they could screen their shorts to discerning audiences and, more importantly, find constructive and critical feedback from achievers in the field.

From 40 movies in the first edition to 3500+ short films in 2023. The 2023 Hybrid festival had 7000 people registering and 200,000 hits every day.

What does the Oscar® Academy accreditation mean for BISFF?

At BISFF 2024, the winning short films in the International and Indian Competition sections are automatically eligible for consideration in the Live Action Short Film Category of the Academy Awards®, without standard theatrical run, provided the film complies with the stringent Academy rules. Among renowned  International Film Festivals which have the OSCAR accreditation are Berlin, Cannes, Toronto and Venice.

Festival Categories – International, Indian, Karnataka, Animation, Womens’ section and the Diversity & Inclusion competition section.

BISFF 2024 theme is Inclusion and Exclusion

The festival is now Open for Submissions. The submission dates are from 1st February till 30th April 2024. To continue the quest to boost films from Karnataka , submissions for Karnataka Competition (with languages of Kannada and its dialects, Tulu, Konkani or Kodava) will be FREE till 29 February 2024.  Submission link – https://bisff.in/
