As we all know Maharashtra’s govt has imposed night curfews and complete lockdown on weekends one industry which is going to face the brunt is the F&B Industry. Here is how Mr. Ankit Mehrotra, CEO & Co-founder – Dineout responded on the impact on the F&B industry.

Mr. Ankit said, “Maharashtra’s night curfews and complete lockdown on weekends is going to severely impact the state’s F&B industry. Dining out contributes 80% of restaurant revenues, with over 60% of the business happening on weekends. Given the restaurants in these cities are already operating at around 60% of pre-COVID numbers, 20% outlets were forced to convert to Dark Kitchens while 30% of the restaurants in Mumbai & Pune have shut down permanently. Most restaurants are taking COVID-safe measures by adopting contactless tech in their daily operations to ensure the least possible contact and risk while living through the pandemic. These measures to close dining out and operate only for takeaway & delivery will leave no room for their survival. It’s high time that the government acknowledges the loss and step in to bail out the industry from this collapse.”

We need to wait and see how the lockdown is going to bring results and how the government balances lockdown and keeps the economy running.
