  • A cinematic reflection on the lives of multitasking working mothers everywhere
  • Ellanar Films in partnership with Freedom Healthy Oil releases an emotional brand film on International Women’s Day 2021

India, March 10, 2021: As an ode to working mothers everywhere, Production house Ellanar Films has created a brand film titled ‘Supermom’ for the Indian conglomerate Freedom Healthy Oil. Released on the empowering occasion of International Women’s Day, it tells the story of a boss lady who works late hours and comes home to her little one, never compromising on her love and care, as she juggles her professional commitments.

It is a special brand film to mark International Women’s Day, as not only is it made with love for women and men all over, but it is also produced and executed by women, while featuring a woman. Supermom is about overcoming the guilt females often face when away from their child in the professional space. It replaces the age old ideal of a selfless mother, with one who is caring and driven at the same time. Showcasing a universal tale that can resonate through every household, the brand film’s protagonist unapologetically manages both her domestic life and professional ambitions.

The creative entity behind Supermom, Ellanar Films is a content driven production house founded by filmmaker Radhika Lavu. It has been bringing pathbreaking tales to the forefront right from its inception. Led by a strong desire to celebrate powerful stories, the brand’s maiden OTT venture G.O.D was a smash hit on Zee5. One of the most popular Telugu shows on the platform, it has since been dubbed in various languages and is noted for the high critical acclaim it garnered. Ellanar Films is all set to soon introduce its new project ‘Unheard’, a riveting saga chronicling the lives of ‘Unheard’ freedom fighters who sacrificed themselves for India’s Independence.

Commenting on Supermom, Founder & Managing Director of Ellanar Films, Radhika Lavu states “As a working mother myself, who is surrounded by other working women and mothers, it gives me immense pleasure to bring to the world the real story of millions, presented in a heartwarming reel setting. With our labor of love, we attempted to showcase that a working mother can be truly connected with her child, without sacrificing her professional and personal needs. At Ellanar Films, as a progressive production house we wanted to play our part in steering away from the depiction of mothers as a perfect being who can do it all and puts herself last, to an empowered woman who reclaims her own life.”
