Mumbai, September 2, 2023: Stage for Change by Sakshi proudly announces its upcoming theatrical production, “Ghat Ghat Mein Panchi Bolta Hai,” directed by Smita Bharti, an artist, theatre practitioner, storyteller, play writer, and the Executive Director of Sakshi-a rights based organization, and produced by SBOX. The play is set to grace the stage at Veda Factory in Andheri West, Mumbai, on the 3rd of September 2023, with performances scheduled at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
Synopsis
“Ghat Ghat Mein Panchi Bolta Hai” fearlessly confronts the unsettling truth of pedophilia in our country. A reality often overshadowed by silence even in the most educated and privileged circles. The play, with unflinching honesty, aims to question this silence and denial that comes at an immense collective cost.
Through the intertwined stories of nine lives, the play delves into the profound impact of generational trauma, the erosion of societal values, and the burden of collective denial. “Ghat Ghat Mein Panchi Bolta Hai” serves as a resounding wake-up call, urging audiences to confront the grave consequences for a society that chooses to avert its gaze from uncomfortable truths.
