Go First evaluates operating flights to Ukraine

Go first is an ultra-low-cost Indian airline. It is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is owned by the Indian business amalgamate Wadia group. In October 2017, with an 8.4% passenger market share, it was the fifth largest airline in India.

In November 2005, it started its function, and in all-economy configuration, it managed a fleet of Airbus A320.

Including 27 domestic and nine international destinations from its hubs at Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh Mumbai, Kolkata, Kannur, and Hyderabad, in March 2020, to 36 destinations, the airline operated over 330 daily flights.

On Thursday, a senior airline official stated that budget carriers go first will estimate the choice of functioning chartered passenger flights to Ukraine only, if there is a proposal from the government.

Due to the rising pressure between the Eastern European country and Russia, India has demanded its natives to temporarily leave Ukraine.

Under the air bubble arrangement, the civil aviation ministry has withdrawn the restrictions on the number of flights that can be functioned between two countries. It was done to ease the travel from Ukraine to India.

The officials mentioned that they would see to it in arranging the passenger flights to Ukraine, and if any requirements were found, they would evaluate.

The official also shared that the government has not yet approached the airline concerning the functioning flights to Ukraine.

The official declared that under the air bubble arrangement, the ministry has abolished the constraints on the number of flights and seats between India and Ukraine. Including chartered flights, any number of flights can be functioned between the two countries.

Due to the rise in demand, the officials stated that Indian carriers have requested to consider having flights to Ukraine. Also added that the ministry is organizing with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) concerning the flight services.

On Wednesday, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv mentioned that to meet the increased demand shortly more flights are being organized.

It was stated in the statement that the embassy of India has been accepting many appeals about the unavailability of flights to India from Ukraine. In this respect, the students were requested to book the tickets for the earliest convenient and available flights to travel to India from Ukraine and not panic.

It was mentioned that at present, Air Arabia, Fly Dubai, Qatar Airways, and Ukrainian International Airlines.
