Mumbai, 17 October 2026: MITTI Café, in partnership with DBS Bank India, today announced the launch of a new café at Sky City Mall, Borivali East, Mumbai. The café, operated entirely by individuals with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities, was inaugurated on 17 October 2026 by the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma.
The inauguration was attended by Ms. Tanu Prasad, CEO, Sky City Mall; Mr. Shishir Joshi, CEO, Project Mumbai; Dr. Rakesh Jha; Dr. Uttam Ojha; Ms. Alina Alam, Founder & CEO, MITTI Café; Ms. Lata Nayak, Director, MITTI Café; distinguished guests, partners, parents of team members with disabilities and members of the MITTI Café team.
The café at Sky City Mall marks another milestone in the 3-year partnership between MITTI Café and DBS Bank India, which is aimed at fostering greater economic participation and opportunities for persons with disabilities. The café is located in a high-visibility space within the mall and demonstrates how inclusion can become a part of everyday life. With every meal and beverage served, MITTI Café team members will build awareness of how ability can transcend disability and help people build meaningful careers with the right opportunities, guidance and support.
On the launch; the Governer of Maharashtra Shri Jishnu Dev Varma said “An inclusive society is one that recognises the potential of every individual and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the nation’s progress. MITTI Café is making a meaningful contribution in this direction by creating avenues for persons with disabilities to develop their skills, earn with dignity and become financially independent.
