Honda Amaze enters Guinness book of World Records

Nov 14, 2014: Honda Amaze has become one of the best selling cars in India with a short period of time. It has now managed to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by covering a distance of 23,800 km through the mountainous terrains, flag highways, coastlines, congested city roads and interior of the country in a 55 day journey.

This feat was achieved as a part of a campaign, ‘Longest Drive through Amazing India’ that was debuted by Honda lately to commemorate reaching the milestone of one lakh sales of the compact sedan that is the fastest in the history of Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL). The campaign started on September 15, 2014 and the Amaze crossed over 400 towns in the time period of 55 days.

The campaign will be followed by a series of webisodes on ‘Drive through Amazing India’ that will be hosted by the renowned author Chetan Bhagat. In the webisodes, Chetan Bhagat will travel to the unexplored destinations inIndiathat will be followed by contests wherein people will have to post stories or photos about the unexplored places of Amazing India that they know. Those who are short listed will receive a chance to travel and explore the wonderful places of the country.

Honda Amaze has been one of the most anticipated cars of this year. The first reason for it was the fact that it is the first diesel engine from Honda. The next is that it is perfectly positioned in the compact sedan segment capturing the attention of many consumers.

Honda launched this vehicle specifically with the Indian demographic in mind and hence, there are different versions to suit the requirements of the customers. The additional features of Amaze include keyless entry, anti lock braking system, electric brake force distribution and more. The variants are distinguished based on transmission system and fuel type. Honda Amaze Petrol variants include E manual, EX manual, S manual, S automatic, VX manual and VX automatic transmission and the Diesel variants are E manual, EX manual, S manual and VX manual.

The pricing of the Honda Amaze ranges from Rs 5.4 lakh to 8.2 lakh in Mumbai.
