People are preparing to move outside their homes after four months of Coronavirus outbreak in India and resume outdoor activities. Though operations are resuming, the possibility of being infected with the novel Coronavirus is still lingering.

It is also important to suggest that individuals take adequate precautions when out to avoid the rate of infection. An IE study highlighted that the probability of COVID-19 becoming infected is directly proportional to the time the individual is exposed to the virus. When a person is next to a person who coughs or sneezes, the risks of infection with COVID-19 are higher.

Beyond this, if the atmosphere is poorly insulated, viral particles from the emitters will linger for a few hours. Therefore, it is important to test, before doing so, whether a specific practice is at high or low risk.

Activities such as opening a package or mail that may be accessed by an infectious person or getting restaurant takeaways and playing a sport that is contactless like tennis fall under the low-risk range, the study said.

In addition, having food stores, walking outside, or running and riding with others, waiting in a clinic are some relatively low-risk practices. Yet shopping at malls, going to work, visiting family, and holding dinners will place people at moderate risk.

According to the research, relatively high-risk habits include trips to a beauty salon, restaurant eating, air travel, attending a wedding/funeral. It is advised to avoid those. Having the highest chance of attending public gatherings where multiple people gather under one roof or visiting religious sites.

When undertaking all of these things, one should make sure that regular hand washing / sanitizing procedures are of paramount importance, wearing appropriate face masks and keeping physical space. Those will be observed before going to any operation, like shopping at grocery stores, rides, runs in a park, and errands.

When back from outside, people should immediately take a shower and wash properly all the clothing. When you have a meal from outside make sure the food is hot and well prepared. People should not be using public washrooms in the case of restaurants, and bring their own sanitizers.
