Hungama Artist Aloud uses a platform that supports and promotes independent artists and content which will collaborate with DeadAnt to acquire and distribute regional stand-up comedy content on its OTT platform Hungama Play, as well as in the podcast format from January 5th, 2022

The goal is to give regional comedians a platform within Hungama’s network so that they may reach a broader audience. The featured comedians are well-known in the area comedy scene for their style, wit, and delivery.

The line-up for Hungama Artist Aloud is an eclectic mix of high-quality comedians that will captivate audiences. To begin, ten musicians will perform in five distinct languages: Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, and Tamil. Manpreet Singh, Mohit Morani, Trupti Khamkar, Mandar Bhide, Sriram Prasad, Chockalingam, Ramkumar Natarajan, Chirag Panjwani, Shravan Narayan, and Subrahmanya Hegde are among the cast members.

“Regional comedy acquisition nicely links in with our basic philosophy of building avenues for independent artists from different backgrounds and cultures,” Soumini Sridhara Paul, Senior Vice President, Hungama Artist Aloud, remarked of the notion and the partnership.

While many of these musicians are well-known in their own regions, we wanted to provide them a global platform through OTT.

“We know the potential stand-up comedy has all around the world, and even closer to home, because localised content in the shape of web series, movies, and songs is popular in the country.” We also wanted people to be able to enjoy comedy with their friends and family in the comfort of their own homes, and our partnership with DeadAnt has enabled us to do that.

“Comedy is developing as the new voice of the youth, with the capacity to unify people and boost their mood,” said Ravina Rawal, creator and editor-in-chief of DeadAnt. The internet has allowed content in several Indian languages to receive the attention it deserves.

“We plan to use Hungama Play’s huge network to expose excellent regional comedians to new audiences across the country and beyond through our relationship with Hungama Artist Aloud.”

Regardless of languages, borders, or cultures, comedy always finds an audience. “The laughs will now be heard from a global audience thanks to Hungama’s global network,” Rawal remarked.
