Increasing the Focus of MSME’s and Entrepreneurs across the BRICS+ ecosystem: BEA Global Presidency signals MSME Push

New Delhi, India: Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Sonowal has been elected President of the BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance (BEA) Global Forum for the 2026–27 term, marking a significant milestone in India’s growing leadership within the BRICS+ economic ecosystem.

Currently serving as CEO and Executive Director of BEA India, Dr. Sonowal will steer the Alliance’s global strategy at a pivotal time, as India prepares to host the BEA Global Summit in November 2026. His leadership is expected to strengthen cross-border trade, foster global partnerships, and create new opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs, particularly in the MSME sector.

This development underscores India’s rising prominence as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. BEA aims to build a collaborative ecosystem rooted in trust, transparency, and shared growth across BRICS+ nations.

Dr. Sonowal said, “I am honored to take on this responsibility at a time when Indian enterprises are poised to play a transformative role globally. My focus will be on creating meaningful opportunities and strengthening partnerships across BRICS+ nations.”

Mr. Boris Tarasov, Secretary General of BEA Global, stated, “India is at the forefront of shaping a more inclusive global trade framework. Dr. Sonowal’s leadership will be key to advancing this vision.”

Mr. Thomas Lotha, Founder Vice President of BEA India, added, “This appointment creates a credible platform for Indian entrepreneurs to access global markets and drive economic growth.”

Mr. Evgeny Skomorovsky, President of BEA Russia, remarked, “This appointment will further strengthen India–Russia trade relations and unlock new opportunities.”

Mr. Fernando Soares, President of BEA Brazil, also expressed strong support for India’s leadership.

The announcement follows the successful India BRICS Business Summit held on April 18–19, 2026, in Hyderabad, which brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and international delegates. A key outcome was the signing of the “Hyderabad Declaration,” outlining a roadmap for MSME growth and enhanced global collaboration.

BEA India will continue expanding its engagement through national and international platforms to promote entrepreneurship, enable global market access, and strengthen trade partnerships. The initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance India’s global economic role through innovation, MSME growth, and international cooperation.

Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, highlighted that BEA India is an important forum for promoting entrepreneurship and MSME development. He emphasized that various government schemes are available and encouraged entrepreneurs to fully leverage these initiatives for business growth. He also reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for BEA India.

Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Minister of State for Jal Shakti, noted that Muzaffarpur and the state of Bihar present significant opportunities for business expansion. He highlighted sectors such as agro and food parks, education, healthcare, and tourism as key areas for development, adding that BEA India will support efforts to attract investments and build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem.

BEA India plans to expand its footprint across the country through a series of business summits and engagement platforms aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, facilitating global market access, and positioning India as a key force in shaping the future of international trade.

With renewed vision and leadership, BEA remains committed to bridging markets, fostering innovation, and building a resilient global entrepreneurial ecosystem grounded in collaboration, trust, and shared growth.
