These hard times have aided in navigating and changing the narrative of the industry at large. This has helped in sharpening the skills of the professionals in the public relations thus increasing their potential. This year has seen some exemplary work put together by the PR professionals which has made their clientele sail through harsh times and thus have made a great impact despite rationed budget allocations and reduced deadlines.
Some of the creative campaigns which are reviewed by “exchange4media” that happened in 2020 and resulted in meaningful chatter in the industry, like Adfactors PR, campaign: #ItsJustAPeriod, Client: Stayfree, it’s objective was 2 million-plus girls would get their periods during the lockdown according to the research. There is a problem which is 71% of these girls would be unaware of menstruation before experiencing it. Their primary source of information was schools/mothers. But since schools are shut down due to pandemics and mothers thought periods were dirty, this led to the building up of wrong notions around periods. Stayfree produced a video #ItsJustAPeriod to trigger the conversations about the period to the respective families. The campaign has gathered good coverage with various top news publications.
Genesis BCW, campaign: Gillette Barber Suraksha Programme, Client: Gillette India. The people across the country have been affected by COVID 19. The result of lockdown is the livelihood of thousands including barbers. Under their Barber Suraksha Programme, the team supported Gillette in their cause to provide support to the barber community. Barbers are provided with COVID insurance, best practices videos for safety, Suraksha sanitation kits, and most importantly, with hope for the months to come. The campaign which ran from June to August helped turn the barber community from direct competitions to strategic business partners. Campaign: #UNLOCKINGSKILLSIN THE MIDST OF LOCKDOWN, Client: National Skill Development Corporation, is another creative campaign that had made a great impact in 2020. The other campaigns which had a positive impact in 2020 are Dettol Banega Swachh India, Vivel Voice of Art, #PowerOfBlack, etc.
