McDonald’s India West and South, which is owned and operated by Westlife Development Ltd, has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of the food served at its locations on World Health Day. McDonald’s is the first QSR brand in India to remove artificial colors, artificial preservatives, and artificial flavoring from select menu items, making it a pioneer of many firsts in the industry. McDonald’s will now show allergen and nutritional information for the full menu in-store and on its McDelivery app, allowing customers to make healthier eating choices.

McDonald’s thinks that consumers should have simple access to nutritional information to make educated eating decisions. Consumers are more aware of not just what their food contains, but also what it does not contain. As a result, to increase consumer trust in the brand, McDonald’s is raising public awareness of the ingredients in its products by emphasizing its progressive path toward Clean Labels.

McSpicy Fried Chicken, Chicken Nuggets, Veg Nuggets, Chicken Strips, Hashbrowns, and Hotcakes no longer include any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. All patties and the trademark McDonald’s fries are devoid of artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors. McDonald’s is beginning its “Real Meals, Real Good” campaign, which will emphasize the quality of the food offered.

McDonald’s has always tried to be open about the food served in its restaurants and the ingredients used in its products so that customers may make informed decisions. This will be a long-term campaign that will use traditional and social media to inform consumers about the brand’s food efforts. McDonald’s has always tried to be open about its menu options.

When it comes to menu innovation, McDonald’s has long been the industry leader. Westlife has invested heavily in establishing a closed-loop supply chain with 100 percent traceability of materials back to their farms to ensure complete transparency since bringing the worldwide brand to India. McDonald’s commitment to offering truly good cuisine in its restaurants may be seen in its previous projects. McDonald’s began a journey to make its cuisine as wholesome and nutritious as possible a few years ago, and the company will continue to push this in the QSR market.
